Azerbaijan & Iran discuss ICT partnership

A delegation led by Deputy Minister for communication & IT of Azerbaijan Iltimas Mammadov paid an official visit to IRAN. Mammadov discussed bilateral relationships development with Deputy Minister for Communication of Iran Mehdi Akhavan, IRNA reported.

Akhavan said that Iran was interested in internet traffic via Azerbaijan and Iran. Also Iran wants to increase partnership with Azerbaijan in this field.

According to Akhavan, the initial agreement between two countries has been achieved, and the information transit will bring in good return, because of the two countries' advantageous geographical location.

Azerbaijan delegation also met Post Company of Iran director. Postal partnership was discussed during the meeting. Iran offered electronic commerce, postal transit, stamp printing partnership development.

Azerbaijan delegation also met "Post Bank" state company director Mohammad Hasan Mohebian. Funds transfer system between Azerbaijan & Iran, investments, joint bank estabilishment, Post Bank Baku branches opening, mobile banking & electronic commerce were discussed during the meeting.
