ICT minister: Azerbaijan interested in boosting cooperation with Pakistan

Azerbaijan is intrerested in development of cooperation with Pakistan, in all sectors and the sides carry out important works in this sphere, Azerbaijani Minister of Communication and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov told Pakistan Observer newspaper in Pakistan.

According to him, the discussing issues cover economic, cultural and defence industry spheres. At the same time, official Baku stated that, Azerbaijan could join the oil & gas supply projects of Southern Asia.

He also noted that Azerbaijan-Pakistan Intergovernmental Commission investigated the extending methods of trade turnover increase, economic relations. Besides, the countries have started to collaborate in defence industry sphere.

“Islamabad supports Azerbaijan’s position in Nagorno Karabagh Conflict and in turn, Baku supports Pakistan’s position in Kashmir problem” said the minister.

Abbasov also noted that, presently, the Centre of Azerbaijani Culture operates in Islamabad. Pakistani students study in Baku, Azerbaijani students study in Pakistan.
