Batumi Oil Terminal introduces international standards in testing laboratory

Batumi Oil Terminal Ltd., which provides services for transshipment of crude oil, oil products and liquefied hydrocarbon gas, has successfully implemented the ISO 17025 standard in the testing laboratory of oil and gas analysis, the terminal said.

In Dec. 2010, accreditation for compliance with the requirements of international standard in the Accreditation Center, located in Tbilisi, Georgia, was received.

The laboratory's activity sphere includes control over preserving the quality and quantity of oil products throughout the process of transshipment, which is ensured by carrying out laboratory researches on set international standards.

"Our laboratory has always corresponded to the highest international standards, and we are pleased that we continue to develop and improve our enterprise. By introducing the ISO 17025, the testing laboratory of analysis of oil and gas has assumed the obligation to constantly maintain and improve the level of laboratory research," General Director of Batumi Oil Terminal Temirkhan Abdirov said.

Batumi Oil Terminal Ltd. has been issued international certificates ISO 14001:2004 for the Environmental Management System and OHSAS 18001:2007.

In Feb. 2008, KazTransOil, a subsidiary of JSC NC KazMunaiGaz, acquired Batumi Oil Terminal and Petrotrans forwarding company. KazTransOil also acquired the right of long-term management of the Batumi seaport.
