Jeremy Ellis, Head of Business Development RWE Supply & Trading held a presentation at the the conference Gas Infrastructure Caspian in Baku, on September 16th. Below are the main points of the presentation:

--- A comparison of the Southern Corridor gas pipeline projects based on facts of gas supplies, gas markets and financing of which Nabucco provides gas producers in Azerbaijan with by far the lowest total transport costs to market – leading to the real savings and on a risk basis Nabucco is lower risk for transporting gas from Azerbaijan to Europe.

--- Nabucco has no issue with gas transit through Turkey. In addition Nabucco is the lowest cost means of gas transport through Turkey.

--- The design for Nabucco pipeline construction is fixed. There will be 2 feeders. None of which from Iran.

--- Nabucco brings supply security and diversification to South-East Europe – and access to gas where there is none to date.

--- Nabucco supplies gas “beyond Baumgarten” to the wider European market: Germany and more countries.

--- Project convergence: IGI gas pipeline project could be linked to Nabucco – and benefit from Nabucco’s dedicated transit through Turkey and access to gas supplies.
