Turkmen oil starts flowing through BTC pipeline

Turkmen oil is now flowing through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, Bp-Azerbaijan said. After signing of a new agreement, in July, Turkmen oil is transported to Ceyhan port via BTC pipeline. Currently, oil produced from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli field and condensate from Shah Deniz field are transported through BTC. BTC Co. also signed an agreement on transportation of oil from Tengiz field of Kazakshtan.

During the six months of 2010, 18 million tons or 136 barrels of oil was transported via the BTC pipeline. Some $ 13.4 million have been spent on the BTC-related issues in the first six months. Total expenditures for BTC are to make up about 69 million dollars this year.
