Azerbaijan sees drop in cotton exports

Azerbaijan exported 1,846,900 tons of raw cotton worth $2,245, 400 in Jan.-Jun. 2010, according to the Azerbaijan State Statistics Committee.

"According to net estimations, this is at 44.1 % less than the volume of exports over the same period of 2009,” the committee representative said.

No raw cotton was exported in June. Cotton exports made up 0.02 percent of country’s total exports ($10,245,378) during the reporting period. The statistic figures show the exports reduced 26.44 percent year-on-year.
