A seminar on “Azerbaijan`s membership to World Trade Organization and private sector” has been in the country`s Zagatala city.

The event, co-organized by Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Economic Development and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), brought together local entrepreneurs, representatives of Azerbaijan Veterinary Service, State Phytosanitary Control Service and State Agency on Standardization, Metrology and Patent.
Opening the seminar, deputy governor of Zagatala Hamza Suleymanov highlighted Azerbaijan`s economic achievements. “The foundations of Azerbaijan`s economic development strategy were laid by national leader Heydar Aliyev. And this course is today being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev,” he stressed.
Official at the Ministry of Economic Development Bakhtiyar Alishov spoke of social-economic development of Azerbaijan`s regions, praising the government support to entrepreneurship.
Expert for trade and legal affairs of the USAID`s Trade and Investment Reform Support Program (TIRSP) in Azerbaijan Alida Mahmudova highlighted the program`s priorities.
