Daily oil production in Azerbaijan hits record high of 1 million barrels in 2009

Azerbaijan posted a record oil production of 1 million barrels a day last year, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said at the Caspian Oil and Gas conference.
Exploration, drilling, construction and production work carried out together with foreign oil firms produced good results.

Overall oil and gas reserves are estimated at 1 billion tons and 350 billion cubic meters. Shahdeniz gas, Ashrafi and Karabakh fields were discovered and oil reserves in the contract area in the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli were almost doubled.
