Azerbaijan's major gas supply company, Azerigaz, said it plans to draw up a wide program aimed at renewing gas supply system in the capital, Baku.

Nazim Samadzade, first deputy director of Azerigaz, which is run by the country`s state oil firm, SOCAR, said: "Baku`s gas supply history goes back to 30s of the past century. And the system which was created in the Soviet epoch already wore out."
"We plan to overhaul our gas supply system to European standards."
"We`ve received relevant proposals from a large number of leading European companies, including Germany and France," he said.
Samadzade supposed renewing the Azeri capital`s gas supply system would take three years.
