Azerbaijan’s IT market demonstrates fantastic growth: IT giant

On Sept. 10, a meeting was held in Baku at the Azerbaijan Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies with the delegation of Sweden Telecommunications Company led by Hans Vestberg, chief financial officer of the company who will take office of CEO Ericsson from Jan. 1, 2010.

Speaking at the meeting the Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov noted reputation and prestige of Ericsson make and position of the company in Azerbaijani market that technology Ericsson is widely used by Azerbaijan’s mobile operators.

Minister expressed satisfaction that management Ericsson comes with new ideas and offers for cooperation with Azerbaijan.Following the minister’s speech, addressing  the meeting H.Vestberg presented his vision on development of IT sphere in the world.

“Today 4 billion people use mobile phones in the world, and their number will grow day by day. We suppose that the number of mobile owners will exceed 7 billion – 25% of the planet by the end of 2014. There is a matter about wideband access to the network: If currently 400 million people use Internet so in 2014 their number will reach 3 billion. The same position is observed in the field of broadband access. The company Ericsson is ready to render assistance to the development of ICT by offering up-to-date decisions and services in the sphere of telecommunications including Azerbaijan," said Hans Vestberg.

Noting the importance of IT sector newly appointed CEO of the company called the developments of Azerbaijan in this direction satisfactory.
