Azerbaijani Finance Minister to attend BSTDB forum in Greece

Azerbaijani Finance Minister Samir Sharifov will make a speech at the regional economic forum on the current economic situation and medium-term perspectives of the Black Sea region organized by the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) in Saloniki on June14, the bank said.
Sharifov will be the speaker in the first panel of the forum "Perspectives after the crisis", the bank said.

The forum will be held on the occasion of the 10-year anniversary of the bank in the Black Sea region.

The ministers of economy and finance and managers of the central banks of the BSTDB 11 member countries, as well as senior officials of major international financial institutions in the region, representatives of international banks and business leaders interested in the Black Sea region have been invited to the forum as reporters.

The forum will be held in the Greek hotel Macedonia Palace.

So far, Greece, Russia and Turkey remain the largest shareholders of the bank with 16.5-percnet stakes for each, Romania owns 14 percent, Bulgaria and Ukraine - 13.5 percent each, Azerbaijan - 5 percent, Albania - 2 percent, Armenia and Moldova - one percent each, and Georgia - 0.5 percent.

Azerbaijani Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev is the manager of the Black Sea Bank from Azerbaijan and Finance Minister Samir Sharifov is his deputy.

The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank is functioning since June1, 1999.
