The transport Ministry continues implementation of all the projects, launched in the past years, said deputy Minister of Transport of Azerbaijan Musa Panakhov.
"This year we will complete the construction of establishments that we started one or two years ago. It means that we primarily set the task of completing all projects. Moreover, on par we will prepare new projects for the upcoming years. On them we need to prepare a complete expenditure estimate. We will launch their implementation already in 2010-2011", said he.

Panakhov spoke on the proposed project of constructing a motor bridge via the Baku bay.

"We continue working at it, as it is really a large and complex project, demanding large investments. According to our plans, the company to win the tender will project, build and operate this bridge to win the tender. It will also invest into the construction. This principle is a basis. The principle, when the main company builds, commissions and operates will allow us to build this bridge. This will of course require large investments.

We are working at the project for it to be interesting, not to spoil the panorama of the city and at the same time for it not to be merely a wonderful dream, an idea on the paper. Certainly, not all moments will be defined by the winner of the tender independently. We are the customers and therefore we will define terms of the bridge construction and how long the company will operate it. We should not allow it to last long", said the deputy Minister.

According to him, they will set our provisions.

"Yet so far this project is at the stage of long-term discussions, as it is not too small or easy. There are low number of such projects in the world and we will have to wait for the next five years for implementation of the idea of a bridge over the Baku bay. The detailed projection of such a bridge will take about 2 years", concluded the deputy Minister.
