The tenders on construction of onshore and offshore parts of Baku's international sea port in Alat settlement will be announced during six months, Musa Panahov, deputy minister of transport, said on March 13.
Presently, Dutch Royal Haskoning company conducts designing operations.
Earlier, the company won the tender on new port designing.
"The projects will be designed stage by stage, i.e. they (Royal Haskoning)will submit offshore part, then onshore. Tenders on construction will be announced as soon as the projects are being prepared stage by stage. I think everything will begin during 5-6 months," Panahov said.
The project will be estimated by the designing company after designing
operations fully complete, he said.
This port will be multi modules as it is planned to create free economic zone in its territory in future besides logistics center.
The new international sea port in Alat settlement will be constructed at three stages and complete by 2015. The first stage of the project covering 2008-2010 envisages construction of two ferries, three freight bridges for containers, crafts of ro-ro kind and simple (universal) dry cargos. The second stage of the project (2011-2013) envisages construction of other three freight bridges, the third one (2014-2015) - construction of two additional freight bridges. The construction project worth over $400 million.
Royal Haskoning, the engineering construction-designing company, was
established in the Netherlands in 1881.
