Lithuanian President to visit Azerbaijan

On November 13 President of Lithuania will pay a working visit to Azerbaijan to attend the fourth energy summit to be held in Baku on November 14, said Azerbaijani ambassador to Lithuania Naira Shakhtakhtinskaya from Vilnius, according to Novosti-Azerbaijan.
The visit envisions the meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Lithuania Ilham Aliyev and Valdas Adamkus to discuss prospects of cooperation between the two friendly states, as well as regional issues.

Sources from the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan also announced that official invitations on behalf of the head of the Azerbaijani state were sent by diplomatic channels to presidents of several states in late October.

Some leaders have already agreed to take part in the Baku energy summit, including President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili, Poland Lech Kachynsky, Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, Estonia Toomas-Hendrick Ilves, Latvia Valdas Zatlers, Romania Trojan Basescu and others.

One of the main discussed issues at the Baku summit will become the issue of Odessa-Brody pipeline to transport Caspian oil to Central Europe.
