24 October 2008 [12:14] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan has no fundamental grounds for the world economic crisis to influence it, said chairman of NBA directors' board Elman Rustamov.
He said the macroeconomic situation in the country is stable, country's external liquidness on the background of world liquidness problems makes $17 bln and the external debt, considering the debts of the private sector is no more than $8 bln.

"It means that the country's assets liquidness is twice as high as the debt. As for the microinfluence, especially on the banking sector, the only problem here can be the external debt of $2 bln with $1 bln falling on the International Bank. There have been no problems with the repayment of this debt yet. This process continues today as well", said he.

At the same time, Rustamov noted that the state and the government continue the analysis of the situation and consultations and will say their word when necessary.

"Thus, both depositors and creditors can be calm. The banking sector of Azerbaijan demonstrates growth and stability and we will spare no efforts for the crisis to bypass", concluded Rustamov.
