President of Azerbaijan: "The global financial crisis has not affected Azerbaijan"

Successful development has been attained in all spheres in the result of the purposeful policy of the Azerbaijani government. Azerbaijan is also integrating with the world economy, said President Ilham Aliyev at a governmental session by results of 9 months of this year.

"This integration is obvious in all spheres. We must hold our policy so that the global financial and political crisis would not affect Azerbaijan and we have attained that. The global financial and political crisis has not affected Azerbaijan", said the head of the state.

According to the President, the country attained this owing to its will and purposeful independent policy and "this policy will further continue". "This all shows the execution of the correct and strong policy", said he.

"Azerbaijan's economic potential consolidates the country's positions on the world arena. Today Azerbaijan plays an important role in the stabilization of the situation in the region and contributes to the consolidation of the region", said the President.

As for the economic development of the country, the head of the state noted that economy is growing fast, and "in the result of the successful policy GDP made 15% through 9 months of this year".

"Azerbaijan, which is leading by its economic growth rates, proves again that the country's policy is durable and long-term", said the head of the state.

According to the President, though inflation rates makes 21% in the country, the government takes all necessary steps to reduce this number to minimum. "Bringing the monetary incomes of the population to 34% is an example of a purposeful policy of the government", said Aliyev.

He also noted that a greater part of the state expenses are used for implementation of infrastructural projects. "Infrastructural projects, aimed at the regional development, are supplemented by strategical projects", said he adding that the project of the construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is being successfully implemented.

As for the regional development, Aliyev noted that the state program of socioeconomic development of the regions has been successfully implemented through the past five years. "The economic indicators of most regions of the country have doubled through the past five years", said the head of the state.
