Azerbaijan prolongs agreement with KEPCO on construction of private electric station until 2009

The Economic Development Ministry has prolonged the agreement with Korean KEPCO about the construction of a private electric station in Azerbaijan of a capacity of 818 MW until June of 2009, said chief of department of foreign investment and coordination of technical assistance Asker Alekperov.
The agreement was notably signed in 2007. The electric station will be built in Alyat settlement within 3-35 years and it envisions 25 year term of the project regulation.

The project is estimated at EUR 523,000,000. In line with the feasibility study, the station will comprise two gas and a steam turbine and the efficiency factor is estimated at 57.27%.

In the result of the use of modern gas turbines at the station it is planning to use 0.185 cubic meters of natural gas to generate a KW/H of  energy, which means that 5.4 KW-Hs of energy will be generated from a cubic meter of gas.
