IBA attends second annual session of New champions by initiative of the World Economic Forum

The second annual meeting of the New Champions 2008, attended by International Bank of Azerbaijan as an official partner of the forum, was held in one of the biggest industrial centers and one of the three largest cities of China Tianzhin on September 27-28 by initiative of the World Economic Forum.

It should be reminded that in 2007, IBA became one of the co-founders and partners of the community of world developing companies and IBA chairman Jahangir Hajiyev was elected the member of the community council. As a partner, IBA obtained the right to invite a business-delegation for the first session of the forum, including leaders of the biggest local companies from different economic spheres, including IT and insurance. The current forum, held under the slogan "The new development wave", is intended to support the leaders of the business world in a search for optimal way of the world development in conditions of the world economic crisis.

The forum involved over 1,400 representatives of commercial, state and public organizations from 19 countries throughout the world. Among the controllers of different trends of the forum are vice chairman of Citigroup William Rods head of TNT international transportation company Peter Bekker, head of Airbas Thomas Anders, chairman of Ernst&Young James Terlie and so on.

The IBA delegation was also invited to a meeting with Premier of China Ven Zhibao.

By results of the forum Claus Schwab, founder and managing chairman of the World economic forum, received the IBA delegation, led by first deputy chairman of the bank's board Emil Mustafayev and deputy chairmen of the board Vagif Akbarov and Rovshan Kerimov and thanked IBA for participation as a partner of the community.
