Azerbaijan gearing for manufacturing aircraft and helicopter

"Negotiations are under way with Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish and Czech companies to establish the required production infrastructure. Some parts of aircrafts made in Russia and Ukraine are manufactured in Azerbaijan. There are plans afoot for manufacturing civil and military aircrafts and helicopters in the country," said the source, not referring to the companies namely because of ongoing talks.

As is reported, it is planned to overhaul and reorient the obsolete Aircraft Repair Plant in Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev Settlement for the assembly of aircrafts and helicopters.

Presently, Iglim Scientific Production Enterprise and Avia-Agregat Plant manufacture aviation equipment in Azerbaijan.

Iglim Scientific Production Enterprise maintains cooperation with Russian Vimpel Plant, Irkutsk Aviation Production Unit, Aviakor Plant in Samara, Novosibirsk Aviation Production Unit, RSK MIG and Rosoboroneksport.
