New coating plant opens in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan

Relations with neighbor countries played an important role in the development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, said Vasif Talybov, chairman of the Supreme Medjlis of Nakhchivan AR during the opening ceremony of a new coating plant in Nakhchivan, according to Interfax-Azerbaijan.

"Though the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has been blocked by Armenia for many years, the economic and cultural ties, created by Azerbaijan with neighbor countries, played an important role in the development of the autonomous republic", noted Talybov.

He said all settlements of the AR are gasified, energy supply is stable, schools, factories, plants are built, agriculture is developing, new technique, and equipment are purchased and supplied, which is an important factor in the construction works, held in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Talybov noted that large economic and cultural cooperation emerged in the result of friendly and good neighbor relations of Azerbaijan and its integral part-Nakhchivan with Iran.

"A new coating plant, launched in Nakhchivan, is a result of this cooperation. Currently Azerbaijan and Iran exchange natural gas, electric energy, and entrepreneurs create joint ventures.

Existing economic and commercial, as well as cultural ties are useful for the population of both countries, further expansion and strengthening of our ties, which have an ancient history", said speaker of the Nakhchivan parliament.

He said, erected in 2007 on the basis of equipment, purchased from Iran, the coating plant has justified itself with its high technical indicators and therefore, it was decided to build the second plant of the kind.

"Modern technique plays an important role in creation and renewal of a large net of roads. Therefore, the purchase of new equipment for road economy is in the center of attention. New cars and mechanisms, which have demonstrated their high technical indicators during  operation have been brought from Turkey", noted Talybov.

He said the new plant will also promote opening of new job opportunities. New technology, restricting manual labor and raising quality of produced asphalt, is installed here.

"High quality asphalt means quality roads. Asphalt produced today in the autonomous republic complies with modern standards and norms. Roads, covered by such asphalt, will remain operable for a long time".

Talybov noted that purchase of modern technique will further continue and gave instructions related to construction of coating plants in the regions of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

It should be noted that the producing capacity of the plant makes 69 tons of asphalt per hour. The bitumen storage of 2,500 tons have been installed there. Production process at the enterprise is held in line with modern technology, applied in the most developed countries of the world. Launching of a new plant will help cover one kilometer of roads with the asphalt from the enterprise within the eight-hour workday.
