Overall assets of Azerbaijani banks make AZN 7.67 bln

It is reported that from January until May 1 of 2008 the assets of the banking sector have risen by 14.7%.

As of May 1 the overall volume of assets of country's banks made AZN 7,672,2 mln ($9,265.9 mln). By January 1 of 2008 they made AZN 6,725.7 mln  and by May 1 of 2007 AZN 4,263.7 mln, while as of April 1 of 2008 made AZN 7,415.8 mln.

At the same time the assets growth rates exceeded the growth rates of the banks capitalization.

Since May 1 of 2007 the overall capital of the banks (despite appearance of two new credit establishments) has risen by 61.7% and since January 1 of 2008 by 13.6%.

As of May 1 of 2008 the overall capital of the banks made AZN 1,146 mln, which is up 14.9% from the level of assets", says the declaration.

As of January 1 of 2008 capitalization of 46 banks of Azerbaijan made AZN 1,009.1 mln, by May 1 of 2007 AZN 708.1 mln and by April 1 of 2008 AZN 1,107.4 mln.
