The tariff council has not received an appeal regarding price hike, said Heydar Babayev, Economic Development Minister of Azerbaijan, who is also the head of the Tariff Council.
The Minister noted that the prices are not expected to rise by the end of the year and announced that information, spread by some mass medias about the rise in prices on some kinds of goods, are groundless.
According to Heydar Babayev, some changes in tariffs are mainly of regulatory nature.
It should be noted that previously head of Baku underground Taghi Ahmedov told reporters that existent fare in the Baku underground is 11 times lower than the real and the leadership of the underground has already appealed to the Tariff Council with a proposal about the gradual rise in fares for the initial reduction and the further exclusion of the state subsidies.
