Sabit Baghirov: "Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan cooperation in the sphere of fuel and energy complex has good prospects"

The due announcement was made by SOCAR ex-president Sabit Baghirov.

He said Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan were closely cooperating in the Soviet times, owing to similar trends of industrial development, as well as historical and cultural closeness of our peoples.

"Definite problems appeared after our countries gained independence and I am glad that the situation is normalizing", said he.

According to Baghirov, the cooperation between our countries in the sphere of fuel and energy really has good prospects.

Turkmenistan, like Azerbaijan, is rich in natural resources and in this area there is mutual interest in the joint development and transportation of energy sources to the world markets, said he and added that the restoration of effective and mutually profitable cooperation is real.

"At least the first step in this direction has already been made".
