Heydar Babayev: "Kazakh government has allowed to export grain, purchased by Azerbaijani companies"

01 May 2008 [14:55] - TODAY.AZ
The governments of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan continue talks regarding the problem of export of Kazakh grain on basis of the previously paid contracts.
Heydar Babayev, chairman of the commission from the Azerbaijani side, told reporters today that principle agreement for the positive resolution of the said issue was received from the government of Kazakhstan in the framework of the session of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan intergovernmental commission, held in Astana in April.

"Technical issues are currently being settled. This problem should be settled in line with international practice. The force majeure is out of the question, as, if there were force majeure, it would not be important, whether the cost of product has been paid or no", the Minister noted.

He said the problem of grain exportation from Kazakhstan is caused by imposing of ban on grain export by the leadership of the country.
