Azerbaijan plans to raise 2008 state budget by over 40%

A draft law "On alterations to the 2008 state budget" has been submitted to the Azerbaijani parliament, as reported by Milli Medjlis deputy Zahid Oruj.
He said the draft law will be considered on May 2. The document envisions the state forecasts of budget revenues at USD 12,700,000,000 and expenditure at $13,000,000,000.

Oruj noted that alterations to the state budget envision raising expenses on social, economic and military spheres. The session participants will also hear a report on the state budget execution for 2007.

It should be added that state budget revenues for 2008 were confirmed in the amount of AZN 7,383 billion ($8,895 billion) and expenses AZN 8.509 billion ($10.252 billion), budget deficit at AZN 1.126 billion. In case alterations are confirmed, the revenues will rise by 43% and expenses by 26%.

It should be noted that revenues of the 2008 consolidated budget at predicted to be AZN 10.508 billion ($12.270 billion), expenses AZN 10.184 billion ($12.270 billion).
