Mobile communication accounts for 74% revenues in Azerbaijan's communication sector

Services, provided by communication enterprises of Azerbaijan to individuals and legal entities, made up AZN 127,400,000 in January-February of this year, which is 42.2% higher as compared with the last year.

Day.Az reports with reference to the State Statistical Committee that 79% of these services were provided directly to the population.

It should be noted that mobile communication accounted for 74% of the revenues, which is 60.1% higher, as compared to the same period of 2007.

At the same time, the State Statistical Committee reports that the number of communication sector employees reached 22,300 in January of 2008 and the average monthly wage AZN 327,4, which is 37.3% higher as compared with the previous indicator. At the same time, rise in wages made up 28.9% in the state sector and 29.9% in the private sector.
