The Second Caspian Oil and Gas Trading and Transportation Conference will run on 23-25 April, 2008 in Baku, Azerbaijan, at the Park Hyatt Hotel.
The Conference is organized by Confidence Energy and Azerbaijan State Oil Academy with the official support of the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan Republic and SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic).

The Caspian is the key growing production region with an enormous and still untapped potential. Improving trade and transportation in the Region is key to developing this potential and to ensuring supply diversity and energy security of consumers in Europe and Asia.

The First Caspian Oil Trading and Transportation Conference held in Baku in April 2007 brought together over 150 businessmen and specialists from 20 countries. It was instrumental in furthering transnational energy dialogue, facilitating information exchange and improving understanding in the oil and gas industry of the region. Last year’s event was a new and efficient networking platform and served as a catalyst for quite a few deals.

Among the recent confirmations are such companies as Botas, Total, OMV, JSC NC KazMunyjGaz, LITASCO, JSC Gazprom Neft, JSC Transneft, NIOC.

The main objective of the conference is not only macro integration of the Caspian region, one of the most significant oil and gas fields of the ХХI century, into the world energy markets, but also providing a detailed overview of the influence of export direction on economics and oil and gas industry of the Caspian region, its energy markets, trading, transport infrastructure, transit, and oil and gas products quality.

Apart from plenary sessions the technical visits will be organized to Baku Refinery named after H. Aliyev and to the Caspian Energy Centre – a world-class oil and gas exhibition located at the Sangachal Terminal (sponsored by the shareholder companies in the ACG, BTC, Shah Deniz and SCP projects). Sangachal is one of the world’s largest integrated oil and gas processing terminals (operated by BP-Azerbaijan).
