Azerbaijan selects Twinning partners

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Industry and Energy, Ministry of Economic Development, State Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Patents, and European Commission have selected partners among the EU members for the Twinning Project.

The selection was based on 8 proposals by 9 EU countries on energy, food security and standardization. EUR 3.5 million was allocated for the selected three projects within the framework of the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI).

Dutch-Latvian consortium was selected as a partner for the State Service for Consumer Market under the Ministry of Economic Development in “Improvement of Legal and Technical Aspects of Food Quality and Security and Certification of Fishing Products”.

The European Commission allotted EUR 1 million for the project.

Germany was selected partner for the Ministry of Industry and Energy’s “Legal Harmonization and Structural Reforms in Azerbaijan’s Energy Sector” that costs EUR 1.1 million.

A proposal by German-Austrian consortium was selected for “Establishment of Legal Framework for Infrastructure and Building up Capacity of the Agency” for the State Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Patents. The project is estimated at EUR 1.4 million.
