Azerbaijan's January external trade turnover makes up $1,120,000,000

This is a 42.6% rise as compared to the same period of 2007.

The due announcement was made by a source from the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, Novosti-Azerbaijan reports.

Export neared $626,200,000 of the total volume of the external trade turnover (which is 58.13% higher, as compared to the previous year), import $494,300,000 (26.91%).

The state share in export exceeded $571,500,000 (91.27% of the whole export in January), private sector over $47,990,000 (7.66%), individuals about $6,700,000 (1.06%).

The state share in import exceeded $129,200,000 (26.14% of the whole import), private sector $340,500,000 (68.99%), individuals about $24,600,000 (4.97%).

The external trade operations through the reported period were carried out with 96 countries, about 2,500 individuals and legal entities were dealing with them.

It should be reminded that Azerbaijan's external trade turnover neared $11,767,000,000 by results of 2007. At the same time, export exceeded $6,000,000,000 and import $5,700,000,000.
