The first session of the Azerbaijan-Turkmen intergovernmental commission finished in Ashkhabad.
According to the press service for Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry, the session participants stressed the role of the intergovernmental commission in the stability and durability of economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in various spheres of economy, transport, communication, culture, sciences, education and public health. For this purpose, the members of the intergovernmental commission agreed to expand the legal basis between the two countries.
Thus, the sides agreed to work out intergovernmental contracts on mutual encouragement and protection of investments, as well as on the railway-ferry services between the Baku and Turkmenbashi ports.
It should be noted that the ferry services currently exist between Baku and Turkmenbashi cities.
