Azerbaijan’s construction companies take great interest in Russian market

“Russian Trade Officer Yuri Shedrin has led AzPromo’s delegation to Sochi and Astrakhan to get information about the investment opportunities of these cities. Russia is ready to accept Azeri companies but we need to set up a coalition,” he noted.

According to Majidov, Azerbaijan companies take more interest in Sochi.


“Investment opportunities in Astrakhan have not been deeply explored although there are several Azeri importers there. Mortgage-oriented construction projects are more common there. Russia offers us to cooperate in this field. We plan to expand cooperation with Russia in construction sector,” he noted.

In 2003 AzPromo was established under the Economic Development Ministry of Azerbaijan. Its Board of Trustees includes 92 representatives from ministries, state agencies, international organizations and private companies.
