For the first quarter of 2007, the amount of telecommunications services reached AZN 140.2 million in Azerbaijan, up 16.6% from the same period last year, Ali Abbasov, the country's Communications and Information Technologies Minister, told at the press conference.

The Financial Services Development Project, between the World Bank and the Government, aimed at improving payment systems for the utility bills collection, and access to financial services and basic business infrastructure in smaller urban and rural areas through the postal system, will be completed this year. The main components of E-Government Project will be implemented by 2008. We have agreed with all neighbors except Iran on distribution of broadcasting channels. We will solve this issue with Iran too," he noted. APA-Economics
