Azerbaijan's Q1 industrial growth beats 38%

Azerbaijan's industrial sector growth was 38.6% for the first quarter, the country's economic development minister Heydar Babayev told a government meeting.

The growth was 12% in non-oil sector and 5.3% in agrarian sector. He said that the investment climate in the country improved and fixed asset investment climbed 12.3%.

34,000 jobs were created and sustainable development and poverty reduction programs were worked out during the first quarter.

He added that transportation grew 18.2%, communications services 16.6% and payable services 37.6%. APA-Economics
