Kazakh delegation arrive in Azerbaijan on April 16-17th

According to his words, during the visit which takes place on April 16 - 17th the questions of enlargement of trade-economic relations between Mangistau oblast and Azerbaijan will be discussed.

"We feel mutual interest of both parties to widen the cooperation. During the visit meetings of Kusherbayev with 15 - 20 Azerbaijani companies which have concrete plans to work in Western Kazakhstan will be organized," said Medzhidov.

On his words, Azerbaijani side will ask for cooperation from Mangistau akim to help companies work in Western Kazakhstan.

Talking about AZPROMO plans to open in Aktau in April 2007 its branch office, Medzhidov mentioned that this work is close to finish. The branch office will be able to give Azerbaijani companies information on economic situation in Kazakhstan, about tenders held in the country, law changes. Besides, the office will provide companies with organizational support to hold conferences and exhibitions.

AZPROMO was set up by the Ministry of Economic Development in 2003. Among its responsibilities are questions of investment incentives and export. Trustees' board includes ministries and departments, international organizations and private companies' representatives.

In December 2006 Azerbaijani delegation headed by the Minister of Economic Development Geidar Babayev visited Aktau to discuss bilateral relations perspectives. In particular, Azerbaijani companies are interested in service of Western Kazakhstan. They are also interested in agriculture supplies, including fruit and vegetable, its processing on plants set up jointly with Kazakhstani companies or companies with 100% Kazakhstani share.  Kazakhstan Today
