Import of fowl from America can be banned, Veterinary Service says

Head of State Veterinary Service under Agriculture Ministry Ismayil Hasanov told the APA that monitoring cover all the territories of the country. Bird flu virus has not been detected.

Hasanov reminded that it is banned to import poultry products from Turkey, China, Great Britain, Thailand, Japan, Hungary and some other countries to Azerbaijan.

"The virus has been found in America too. Investigation is being carried out on it. If bird flu is officially confirmed in America, import of fowl from America can be banned too," he said.
