28 March 2007 [22:28] - TODAY.AZ
The work on construction of Imishli-Parabad high-voltage power supply line between Azerbaijan and Iran has continued to progress and the construction work will be complete by this year's end, said Azerenergy Vice-President Marlen Asgarov.

"This is the second line. If necessary in the future, this supply line will enable to effectively use a synchronized parallel power grid among Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran. Furthermore, it will enable to give back electricity imported by Nakhchivan," he noted.

Construction of new power lines and necessary infrastructure in Azerbaijan within the scope of Russian, Azeri and Iranian power networks synchronization project will be 100% complete by the end of 2007.

He said there is no problem with electricity exchange between Iran and Azerbaijan. Iran and Russia are expected to agree on the parallel power system project this year, APA-Economics reports.
