Azerbaijan intends to acquire stake in aluminum plants in Tajikistan

A total of USD 7 billion ws invested in the economy of Azerbaijan last year, of which 42% was domestic and 58% foreign capital investments, said the Cabinet's Financial Policy Officer Ogtay Hagverdiyev.

He said it is predicted that domestic investments will account for 53% and foreign investments will make up 47% in the economy for 2007.

Ogtay Hagverdiyev said there are plans for investments abroad, adding that Azerbaijan intends to acquire stakes in Tajikistan's aluminum plants, which run on raw materials from Azerbaijan, APA-Economics reports.
