Turkish Energy Minister says terminal is ready to receive Shah Deniz gas

Turkish Energy Minister Hilmi Guler told the fourth Oil&Gas Conference that construction works in the terminal in Silvri to receive natural gas from Azerbaijan has been completed.

He said the current capacity of the terminal is 1.6bln cubic meters but it will be able to hold up to 3bln cubic meters of gas after construction of the other parts is100% complete.

He added that more then 100 tankers carrying the Caspian oil pumped to Turkey via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline have sailed away.

He said Shah Deniz gas coming from Azerbaijan will be transported to Greece via Turkey in August.

Silvri gas terminal will be managed by TPAO.

He said TPAO and TPIC will study the prospects of oil transportation from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Ecuador, Libya, Egypt and Iraq.

He added that Nabucco pipeline is also on focus in the international arena now, APA reports.
