MONEYVAL plenary session approves assessment report on Azerbaijan

Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering and MONEYVAL-CE Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures ended joint assembly.

Representatives of International Monetary Fund and World Bank and prominent experts joined the plenary session. Justice Ministry representatives Ramil Mammadov and Anar Salmanov, representative of National Security Ministry Mehdi Mehdiyev represented Azerbaijan in the session.

As Azerbaijan is the member of MONEYVAL the organization works on joint assessment system in Azerbaijan. The first report on Azerbaijan of the committee was adopted on December 10, 2003.

Azerbaijan presented the next report in the 21st plenary session, but the session decided to hold discussions on Azerbaijan during the second stage.

Yesterday’s meeting of the MONEYVAL made a report on Azerbaijan. As the first and second stages of the assessment report are confidential the reports are not publicized, APA reports.
