Press Council discuss paper prices

Press Council and editors-in-chief discussed today the proposals concerning the rise of newspaper prices.

Press Council chief Aflatun Amashov said that after the rise of newspaper prices, several newspapers raised the prices, some intend to do it, and some others are against it.

Editor-in-chief of Azerbaijan newspaper Bakhtiyar Sadigov said that rise of prices is not a way out.

He said they should make suggestion to either the Cabinet, or the President.

Editor-in-chief of Yeni Musavat newspaper Rauf Arifoglu said in case the situation continues, some newspapers may close.

At the end of the meeting an agreement was reached on discussing the problem at the next meeting of the Press Council and appealing to the President. APA
