Profits of Azerbaijan from TRACECA transit exceed $182 million

The volume of transportation through the international Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) for January-October 2006 has grown 7.2% and reached 35.9 million tonnes, the State Statistic Committee of Azerbaijan said.

The Statistic Committee noted that it was 35.4% of the total transportation volume of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan today reports.

"The profit for the passenger and cargo transit for the above-mentioned period amounted to 164 million manats ($182 million). Moreover, 62.9% of profits were gained at the expense of railway transportation, 18.8% - for the transportation by sea, 18.3% - for the transportation by roads," - the Committee noted. Gazeta.Kz
