Georgia to pay off electricity debt to Azerbaijan

Georgia is paying its electricity debt to Azerbaijan. Azerenergy President Etibar Pirverdiyev said the two countries concluded that Georgia would pay off the debt by this month's end.

"Besides, Georgia will transfer electricity to Azerbaijan at nights and Azerbaijan will return the same amount of energy in daytime because Georgia mainly generates electrical energy by hydroelectric power station. But, it is energy exchange, so neither Azerbaijan nor Georgia pays for it," he said. APA
