Georgia amortize electricity debts to Azerbaijan

Georgia started amortizing electricity debts to Azerbaijan speedily, Azerenergy chief engineer, Saleh Mammadov, said.

He said that Georgia started to pay the debt after the Azerbaijani-Georgian intergovernmental commission met on August 16-18.

"The debt has been reduced by 10mn kw/h. Georgia pays the debt by electrical energy daily and Azerbaijani districts-Gazakh, Aghstafa is supplied with Georgian energy now."

Georgia owed Azerbaijan 32mn kw/h because of electrical energy provided or Georgia in 1990s.

The debt was 17 mn kw/h as of early August, APA reports.
