Russia's MTS approaches Azerbaijan

MTS is currently participating in a tender to buy 90 percent of Armenian operator Armentel from Greece's OTE (OTEr.AT: Quote, Profile, Research) (OTE.N: Quote, Profile, Research).

MTS has said it is interested in companies in the parts of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) where it is not represented -- Azerbaijan, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
