About 50 prisoners hold hunger strike in Gobustan

Prisoners of Gobustan detention place started hunger strike from June 26.

According to APA, the number of prisoners joining hunger strike has reached to 50. Though the health of some of prisoners is in bad condition, no medical assistance is rendered to them.

"Yesterday two prisoners stopped hunger strike due to their health condition. Leadership of the prison does not accept prisoners' application on starting hunger strike. No chance is given to prisoners to apply to justice Ministry, right defenders."

Court Awards Execution Main Office chief Nazim Alakbarov and other officials visiting today Gobustan detention place, held talks with the prisoners on their stopping the hunger strike.

Department chief of the office Rafig Ramazanov confirmed Alakbarov's visit to detention place but said that it has another reason. Ramazanov told that Alakbarov has visited Gobustan prison today.

According to him, not any action is held in the detention place, no application entered from the prisoners about it. Chief of the prison Sedaget Agayev taking as base the commission in the detention place, did nor reply to journalists' questions.
