Barmek employees to be released

08 June 2006 [14:46] - TODAY.AZ
"I will not leave Azerbaijan until the imprisoned employees of Barmek Company are released. They will be released in a very short time."

"Truths are revealed," said president of Barmek-Azerbaijan Electricity Distribution LLC Huseyn Arabul today at the meeting with parents and relatives of the company's imprisoned ten employees. Arabul says these employees are not guilty and they are in prison illegally.

"Justice will be established sooner or later. I saw how responsible the investigators interrogating me were," the company President said.

Lawyer for Barmek Abbas Atakishi said those holding the company workers responsible have admitted their mistakes.

"A lot of things are now clear for us. All these happenings w0ere preplanned. They wanted to cause damage to the image of the company by arresting its officials. They did not succeed," the lawyer said.

Atakishi also said the punishment of Barmek's Vice-President Omer Guner has been commuted. The punishments of the rest employees are expected to be commuted soon.

Arabul told the parents of the imprisoned workers that they can rely on the company if they have any financial problems. He also said the salaries of the arrested ten employees are given every month on time. Additional aids are rendered if needed.

Barmek's director of engineering department Vafa Aghayeva, sales manager Valeh Zeynalov, department heads Alasghar Ramazanov, Elnur Mutellibov, Mahir Novruzov, former manager Chingiz Ibadov and several others are in prison now.

The company's Vice-President Omer Guner is being treated at home after the commuting of his punishment in late May.
