Rovnag Abdullayev: "Azerbaijan to receive 3 bln cubic meters oil gas volume from AIOC in 2006"

08 June 2006 [09:23] - TODAY.AZ
Negotiations on the delivery of 3 billion cubic meters oil gas volume in 2006 between State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and Azerbaijan International Operation Company (AIOC) is over.

As a result of negotiations AIOC will deliver oil gas to Azerbaijan without payment. Rovnag Abdullayev, SOCAR President, has told the media about.

Besides, Mr. Abdullayev has also said that gas capacity which is given to Azerbaijan is also required for balancing pressure in layers. However it may have negative effects on oil production in 2009. Approximately 2 million barrels oil may be produced that time. Nevertheless, Azerbaijan will get 80% of produced oil and it will not negatively influence financial condition of the company.

Interestingly, David Woodward who is the President of BP-Azerbaijan, AIOC operator, says talks on oil gas delivery are not yet complete. On his words, AIOC and SOCAR have not decided the final volume of oil gas to be delivered and talks are still going on. 1,4 billion cubic meters oil gas volume is expected to be delivered from AIOC to SOCAR in 2006, APA reports.
