Mahmud Mammadguliyev: "Azerbaijan is willing to be accepted to WTO as developing country"

Azerbaijan wishes to get some years for passage period related to reforms in bank and insurance system after being accepted to membership of World Trade organization.

Deputy Foreign minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev has told journalists about it, APA informs. "This passage period might cover several years. WTO impacts on us to open bank system and insurance companies, but relevant organizations do not support it."

Mahmud Mammadguliyev stated that WTO is willing the trade to be free and liquidation of subsidiaries. Subsidiaries are applied in import and export, if we could get status of developing country, then we can enter "yellow basket" of WTO, and get applying of 10 percent subsidiaries. We try to get this status."

Mahmud Mammadguliyev said that Malaysia supports Azerbaijan's acceptance to WTO as developing country. "Acceptance of Azerbaijan as developing country is acceptable. In this case, we can get some compensation. Malaysia during the official speech in Geneva announced that it supports acceptance of Azerbaijan to the organization in this status."
