Azeri businessmen see corruption as obstacle to growth

Over half of Azeri entrepreneurs believe corruption is a stumbling block to economic development in the country, according to a recent survey.

The poll was commissioned by the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations National Confederation among 150 businesspeople working in different fields with the support of the Eurasia Foundation.
27% of respondents said that monopoly is impeding growth.

The survey participants also cited the customs, taxation bodies, the state property committee and courts and institutions posing hurdles for entrepreneurial development, AssA-Irada informs.
