Russian export center to open Azerbaijan office

The Russian Export Center (REC) plans to open three new representative offices: in India, Indonesia and Azerbaijan, Alexey Tyupanov, Executive Director of REC group, said.


“We opened six representative offices in 2016. The plan for 2017 is to open representative offices in India, Indonesia and Azerbaijan, where we see great potential for the development of Russian exports,” he noted.


According to Azerbaijan`s State Customs Committee, Russia remain the main trade and economic partner of Azerbaijan.


Russian-Azerbaijani trade amounted to 2.05 billion US dollars (second place among all countries), while Azerbaijani exports made 410 million US dollars (eighth place in the total export volume) and imports made 1.64 billion US dollars (first place in the total volume of imports). The main share of Azerbaijan's exports has traditionally come from agricultural products, vegetables and fruits, canned products, while the country imports machines and equipment, food products, ferrous metals, pharmaceuticals, timber from Russia.
